Mack Earns ABCA/Rawlings East Region Pitcher of the Year, Versage Takes Home All-Region Honors

On Wednesday, the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods released their All-East Region selections for the 2021 season.

St. Thomas Aquinas College's Alex Mack was named the ABCA/Rawlings East Region Pitcher of the Year and a First Team All-Region selection. In addition teammate James Versage was named to the All-East Region Second Team.

Alex Mack (Gr./SP/Cornwall, N.Y.), wrapped up the final year of his spectacular collegiate career, posting a 7-1 record in 10 appearances for St. Thomas Aquinas in 2021. Alex recorded a 1.61 ERA with 81 strike outs, and became one of the East Region's best trios on the mound, along with fellow teammates Aaron Dona and Angelo Baez in the starting rotation. Mack has racked up many post season awards and accolades to date, including ECC Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors, as well as NCBWA and D2CCA East Region Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-Region accolades and was named as a NCBWA, D2CCA and ABCA/Rawlings All-American.

James Versage (Sr./OF/Cape May Court House, N.J.) closed out a stellar career with the Spartans, recording a .313 batting average (35-for-112), with 12 doubles, five homers, 35 RBI and 32 runs scored in 33 contests. Versage was also named ECC All-Conference First Team, D2CCCA First Team All-Region and NCBWA Second Team All-Region selections.
