Maciej Siekierski Hired As Associate Director of Athletics

SPARKILL, N.Y. – Maciej Siekierski has been named Associate Director of Athletics at St. Thomas Aquinas College, Director of Athletics Nicole Ryan announced on Friday.

"I am excited to welcome Maciej to Sparkill and the Spartan community," said Ryan. "Maciej's enthusiasm and vision for being our Associate Athletic Director was evident as we navigated the hiring process. He brings a strong background and wealth of experience experience, working on the collegiate level at St. Joseph's University and St. John's University, as well as with the New York Jets and Nike. We look forward to Maciej joining the our program and the impact he will have on our staff and the student-athlete experience."

Siekierski will assist with the day-to-day oversight of 20 Spartan Intercollegiate Sports teams, along with the college's four Varsity Sports programs. He will also be responsible for organizing weekly practice schedules and coordinating assignments of game day officials and administrators for all home athletic events, in addition to working with the coaching staffs on all matters involving equipment purchasing, travel, and recruiting.

Maciej will work with the Director of Athletics on initiatives and special projects, evaluating functions, practices and the efficiency of facilities, and evaluating staff performance and providing leadership and guidance for personnel, while representing the college at conference and national meetings and serving as a liaison between the Athletic Department and Residence Life/Dining Services offices. 

Siekierski recently served as the Engineering and Facilities Manager for the Nike Sport Research Lab in Beaverton, Oregon (2019-22).

Prior to his time at Nike, Siekierski served as the Director of Recreational Sports and Fitness at St. Joseph's University in Brooklyn, N.Y. (2014-2018) and as the  Assistant Director of Athletics for Facilities and Operations at St. John's University in Jamaica, N.Y. (2011-2014).

During his academic career at St. John's, Maciej worked as a Graduate Assistant for Facilities and Operations (2009-2010), and as a gameday employee for the New York Jets (2008-2010), where he assisted with all aspects of training camp and Jets Fest, along with fan marketing and promotion of NFL Draft parties, team charity functions and halftime shows. 

Siekierski earned a B.S. in Business Management from SUNY New Paltz in 2006 and an M.S in Sports Management from St. John's University in 2010.
