Sarah Ericson Earns ECC Scholar Athlete of the Year Honors

West Babylon, N.Y. - On Thursday, the East Coast Conference announced its Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year, as well as the Scholar-Athletes of the Year for each of its championship sports for the 2022-23 season.

St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Basketball student-athlete Sarah Ericson earned the honor for her sport.

Ericson (Norwich, Conn.) capped off a phenomenal year with the Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor. Also the ECC Player of the Year, Ericson helped the Spartans finish as the ECC runner-up and earn an at-large bid into the NCAA Championship by stuffing the stat sheet with 12.5 points. 9.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. In the classroom, the sophomore Communication Arts major holds a 3.82 GPA.

In addition to her ECC accolades, Ericson earned D2CCA All-Region First Team honors to go along with All-Met Division II Player of the Year and First Team selections.

All ECC Scholar-Athlete of the Year recipients hold at least a 3.30 GPA, are a starter or key reserve, and have reached at least sophomore standing both athletically and academically.
