STAC Women's Bowling & Men's Volleyball Earn 2025-26 ECC Academic Team of Excellence Award

Colonia, N.J. - On Wednesday afternoon, the East Coast Conference announced the 2025-26 recipients of its annual Academic Team of Excellence Awards. 

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Bowling and Men's Volleyball teams were given such distinction by the ECC, as the awards are presented to the team with the highest cumulative grade point average in their respective ECC-sponsored sport.

83 percent of the conference's teams (117 of 141) achieved a 3.0 team GPA or higher. UDC's tennis teams led the way with the women holding the highest overall GPA of any ECC team (3.92), while the Firebird men had the highest of any men's team (3.81). 

100 percent of the ECC's Esports, men's soccer, men's tennis, men's volleyball, women's cross country, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, softball and women's tennis programs achieved a 3.0 team GPA or higher.

Additionally, four teams saw each member of their squad earn a 3.25 GPA or higher in the District of Columbia men's and women’s tennis team, D’Youville women’s tennis team, and Molloy softball team.
