Aida Torpey and Jack Nicholson were named the Spartan Athletes of the Month for October.
Jack Nicholson, Men's Soccer:
Nicholson recorded a 4-4 record in 8 games played for the Spartans during the month of October, with a goals against average of 2.20 and a save percentage of .538.
Nicholson, the senior from Totton Southampton, England was stellar in the net for STAC, as he recorded 2 shutouts, including blankings of key ECC foes Roberts Wesleyan College and Molloy College.
On the offensive side of the ball, Jack also contributed to the score sheet, as he tallied his first career collegiate goal on Senior Day, October 20th versus the University of the District of Columbia. Down, 1-0 and with the hosts pushing 11 players into the box, pink-shirted goalkeeper Jack Nicholson soared from the crowd at the back post and placed a perfect header on a throw-in from teammate Brad Neal into the left corner of the UDC net, sending the crowd into a wild celebration and tying the game a one goal apiece with just 30 seconds left on the clock.
As a result of his outstanding play, Jack was named the ECC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on both October 9th and 22nd.
