STAC Women's Soccer Upset ECC Rival Queens College , 3 - 0
Junior Kim Griffith with 2 goals and an assist led the Lady Spartan soccer team to a 3 - 0 win over ECC rival Queens College on Saturday at Nardi Soccer Complex in Theills, NY.
Freshman Katie Pulzone scored her 1st goal in a STAC uniform at the 35:54 mark of the opening stanza off a pass from Griffith for the first tally of the afternoon. Seven minutes later Griffith scored her 1st goal of the game off a pass from senior Jaymie Sprague. Griffith would add an unassisted goal off a direct kick in the 2nd half to complete the STAC scoring. Goalkeepers Patty Roth and Jeanette Gibson combined for the shutout, recording 10 saves on the day.
The win brings the STAC record to 3 - 9 overall and 2 - 4 in the conference.
They return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Connecticut to take on the University of Bridgeport at 3:00pm
