St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball Head Coach Kristen Sullivan has named Ashley Landolina, Kelcy McGeehan and Alyssa Farr as tri-captains for the 2018-19 season.
“Ashley, Kelcy and Alyssa were selected as tri-captains by a vote of their teammates which demonstrates the respect that they’ve earned from their peers,” said Sullivan. “These three young women bring different personalities and assets to the team and their leadership with be especially important to our five freshmen players. I am very excited to work with them this season.”
Landolina, a junior from Tolland, Conn, was the team MVP last season and won East Coast Conference’s second-team honors for her outstanding play at shortstop and at the plate. She finished with a .402 average with 20 RBIs and 31 runs scored. “Ashley is a true leader by every measure,” said Sullivan. “She leads with her performance on the field and with her enthusiasm with her teammates.”
McGeehan, a senior from Bayville, N.J., has excelled for the Lady Spartans in the last three seasons. She sports a career batting average of .288 with 26 doubles in 130 games. “Kelcy is an excellent student of the game,” said Sullivan. “She has played every infield position for us and she is one of our most reliable hitters. She is a very strong communicator on the field.”
Farr, a senior from Mission Viejo, Calif., is a past winner of the team’s Coaches Award and enters her fourth season as a catcher and outfielder for the Lady Spartans. Sullivan said, “Alyssa is the consummate team player. She contributes to the team in many ways that don’t always show in the box score. She is one of the hardest workers on the team, possesses a very positive attitude and is a great teammate.”
