The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team is ranked #19 overall in all of Division II Men's Basketball according to the latest national poll released on Tuesday afternoon by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). This week's ranking marks the sixth consecutive week that the Spartans have appeared in the NABC Top 25 (2018-19 STAC NABC Ranking History: 23rd, 18th, 23rd, 21st, 18th & 19th).
The 11-2 Spartans are currently being led by freshmen Osbel Caraballo (Forward/Bolivar, Venezuela) - averaging 13.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest and Demetre Roberts (Guard/Mount Vernon, NY) - averaging 12.6 points and 2.9 assists per game, while senior Kameron Murrell (Guard/Long Beach, CA) - averaging 11.9 points per game and junior Sekou Cisse (Forward/Harlem, NY) - averaging 10.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, lead the way for the upperclassmen.
The team's offense currently averages 79.7 points scored per game, while their defense surrenders an average of 74.7 points per game.
The Spartans resume the ECC portion of their schedule, as STAC hosts NYIT on Wednesday, January 9th at 7:30pm. Following the tilt with the Bears, St Thomas Aquinas will head to LIU Post on Saturday, January 12th for a 3pm match-up with the Pioneers.
