St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Basketball player Justin Reyes was named both the East Coast Conference Player of the Week on Monday and the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II Player of the Week on Tuesday, following the Spartans 2-0 week on the hardwood.
Reyes averaged 27.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in the Spartans' wins over New York Institute of Technology and LIU Post last week. Justin had 20 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals at NYIT on Wednesday. The senior forward then recorded his tenth double-double of the season with 35 points and 15 rebounds against LIU Post on Saturday. Justin also picked up milestone rebound number 1,000 in the game with the Pioneers. On the week, Reyes shot 57.5 percent (19-for-33) from the field and 80.0 percent (16-for-20) from the free throw line.
The 16-4 Spartans return to action on Wednesday, January 24th for a 7:30pm road tilt against Queens College. The game will be broadcast LIVE on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN App. Following that game, St. Thomas Aquinas will host Molloy College on January 27th, in a Saturday afternoon affair, beginning at 3pm.
