39 - Kyle Ward
Coach Ward comes to STAC after a 2-year stint as the pitching coach at Florence-Darlington Technical College in Florence, SC. At Flo-Dar Tech, Ward's pitching staff compiled a 65-42 record, a 2.91 team ERA in 2015 and 14 shutouts in Region X of the NJCAA, which is one of the toughest and deepest NJCAA conferences. Under his leadership, numerous players moved on to schools in the SEC, Big South, SoCon, Peach Belt, Conference USA, and Colonial Athletic Association. Nick Jobst, one of Ward's 2015 pitchers posted a 0.00 ERA and was later drafted in the 15th round of the 2016th draft by the Baltimore Orioles.
In the summer of 2015, Coach Ward began a 2-year stint in the Valley League, first as the pitching coach for the Aldie Senators and then in 2016 he became the head coach for the Woodstock River Bandits, becoming the youngest head coach in the league that summer.
Prior to his coaching career, Coach Ward played football and baseball at Georgetown High School. He went on to receive a scholarship and became a 4-year letter winner at DI Charleston Southern University. Recruited as a two-way player (first base & pitcher), eventually, he focused entirely on pitching for Coach Stuart Lake.
Coach Ward has remained active in additional coaching and training capacities, serving as a coach at Zoned, Inc. baseball training facility in Piscataway, N.J. Just recently he was hired as a coach on the staff of the Evolution Summer Baseball Program in Westchester, N.Y.
Coach Ward earned his B.A. in communications & minored in business administration at Charleston Southern University. Born and raised in Georgetown, S.C., he currently resides in Garnerville, N.Y.
