      <title>Lady Spartans Selected 5th in Pre-Season Poll</title>

      <description>The St. Thomas Aquinas women's tennis team was selcted 5th in the ECC poll.  STAC finished 7-5 overall and 2-4 in conference play last season.  The Lady Spartans lost their #1 singles player to graduation but return six experienced players along with two newcomers.</description>

      <description>St. Thomas Aquinas College was among the ninety-two Division II institutions that were recognized by the Division II Athletic Directors Association for high academic honors.  The Spartans had twenty-five student-athletes that met the criteria of a 3.5 or higher and have completed four semesters while being an active participant on their teams.</description>

Sophomore Kristen Schimpf was also victorious in both singles and doubles winning 6-0, 6-0 in the second flight and pulling off an 8-0 shutout in second doubles with Christine Patruno.  Valarie Massaro and freshman Erin Maher won the third doubles flight, 8-0 while freshman Jayden Brignola and Sarah Hughes were successful in the fifth and sixth singles matches.</description>
