St. Thomas Aquinas College's Dante Brown, Kesigh Deloatch and Camille Cameron were named the East Coast Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week respectively on Monday, after the Spartans competed in the Wagner College Invitational this past Friday.
On the track for the men, Brown opened up the new year with three great performances. He started the day with finishing fourth (first among DII entries) in the 60m in a time of 6.98. He then won the long jump with a jump of 6.79m and then finished his day with another fourth place finish (once again first among DII) in the 200m in a time of 22.50.
In the field events, Deloatch took an eighth place finish in the triple jump (13.54m). He also finished 14th in the long jump (6.36m). Deloatch was the top Division II finisher in the triple jump and was second among DII competitors in the long jump.
For the women's team, Cameron started 2018 by taking sixth place in the 60m in a time of 7.94 and fourth place in the 200m with a time of 25.60. She was the top Division II competitor in both events.
St. Thomas Aquinas will host their Spartan Regional Invitational Meet this Friday, January 12th at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, with events beginning at 12pm.
