STAC Women Use Long Ball To Sweep Philadelphia University at Home, 6 - 0 & 12 - 10

STAC Women Sweep Doubleheader From Philadelphia University, 6 - 0 & 12 - 10

The STAC Softball team won their 4th game in 2 days by sweeping, a CACC opponent, Philadelphia University at Spartan Field on Sunday.

In game 1, shortstop Karen Thorne provide the pop with a 2-run homer in the 1st inning and a 3-run homer in the 3rd inning for 5 rbi's in a 6 - 0 decision. Jess Gogatz hurled the shutout.

In game 2, the Lady Spartans took a different route to victory. STAC fell behind 5 - 2 after 4 innings, then took an 8 - 5 lead in the 5th. Philly tied the game at 8 - 8 in the 6th inning, the took a 10 - 8 lead going in the top of the 7th inning. The STAC bats took control in the bottom of the 7th, scoring 4 runs, culminating with Danielle Romanello's 3-run homer for the win.

Andrea Martorelli got the win in relief.
