Head Coach John Carrozza comes to STAC after an exceptional high school, college and
professional playing career in men's lacrosse. John was a standout midfielder and faceoff
specialist at John Jay High School, emerging as an All-American. John played at Syracuse
University from 2005-2008, and was an integral part of the 2008 National Championship
team. Professionally, John played for Major league Lacrosse’s Chicago Machine and the LXM
After his playing career was finished, John embarked on a coaching career that included
youth, middle, high school and college athletes. John now joins the college ranks as the first
men's lacrosse coach for St. Thomas Aquinas.
John has coached several high school and travel programs throughout New York, Texas,
California and Utah. Upon completing his collegiate career, John remained on the Syracuse
University staff as a student assistant coach in 2009, learning under the guidance of John
Desko. John was the offensive coordinator at his alma mater John Jay High School in Cross
River, NY, where he helped guide the Indians to a Section 1 title in 2010 and Section 1
runners-up in 2011. In 2012, he coached Varsity and J.V. at Torrey Pines High School in
San Diego, California. John launched The String Man Inc. in July of 2013, creating an
educational instructional lacrosse program for elementary through high school ages.
John graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Syracuse University in 2010 and currently
resides in Katonah, N.Y.
