The St. Thomas Aquinas Men’s golf team wrapped up their fall campaign with a 4th place finish at the LeMoyne Fall Invitational this weekend at the Lake Shore Yacht and Country Club.
During the first round of action, senior Hamish Houston led the team with a bogey free round of 70 (-2). Senior Michael Miranda had a steady round firing an opening round of 73 (+1) while junior Tom Holmes carded a solid 74 (+2). Jack Phillips rounded out the team scoring with a round of 79 (+7) which gave the Spartans a first round team score of 296 (+8).
During the second round of play senior Michael Miranda put on a tremendous display of golf carding a round of 67 (-5). Houston continued his excellent play, firing an even par 72. Tom Holmes battled for a closing round 77 while Shkelqim Kukaj was able to play an excellent back nine to shoot 79. The team’s final round 295 (+7) dropped them 1 spot to finish in 4th place for the event. Miranda’s 2-day score of 140 (73-67) earned him a runner-up finish while Hamish Houston’s 142 (-2) was good for a 4th place finish.
The team closes out their Fall with 5 top five finishes and looks to improve on their performance during the spring.
