Spartan Baseball Ranked #3 In Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason Poll

The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team received an early holiday gift from the voters at Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. In their annual preseason poll, the Spartans were selected third among all Division II squads.

Led by Head Coach Scott Muscat, now in his 19th season, the Spartans will return a mostly veteran-laden lineup. A mix of talented transfers and a robust recruiting class will fill out the roster, and look to repeat the many successes of last season.

In 2017, STAC compiled a record of 44-17, and captured both the East Coast Conference Regular Season title and NCAA East Region Championship. As a result, St. Thomas Aquinas made their second appearance (2014 & 2017) in the NCAA Division II Baseball Final, where they went 2-2 and finished third overall in the tournament.

St. Thomas Aquinas will kick-off their 2018 campaign in Dinwiddie, Virginia on Friday, February 23rd, when the Spartans take on Indiana University of Pennsylvania with first pitch scheduled for 4:30pm.
