Spartan Baseball Preseason Dinner Set For February 17th, Start Time Now 4pm

The St. Thomas Aquinas Baseball team will host its Annual Preseason Dinner at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Suffern, NY. The evening is scheduled for Saturday, February 17th, and typically consists of well over 200 guests, including alumni, local coaches, college administrators, parents, families and friends of the program. Please note, due to impending snow storm Saturday night in the Lower Hudson Valley, the start time has been changed to 4pm.

Former Major League Baseball Player (Pittsburgh Pirates) and Pitching Coach (Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, Baltimore Orioles), Rick Peterson will be the guest keynote speaker for the evening. In addition, this year's Spartan Baseball Alumni Honoree is a member of the 200-Hit Club and a former team captain for STAC, Nick Barbalato.

Head Coach Scott Muscat will introduce the 2017-2018 squad; which includes several members of the NCAA Division II East Region Team that advanced to the NCAA Baseball Finals last season, along with many new faces.

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball team will play its season opener in Dinwiddie, Virginia against the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Crimson Hawks on Friday, February 23rd.

The Spartans are coming off of a 44-17 season and are the reigning, defending ECC Regular Season and NCAA Division II East Region Champions. The team also finished third overall at the Division II Baseball Finals in Grand Prairie, Texas.
