Assistant STAC Baseball Coach, John Sottile was featured as one of the speakers at the 23rd Annual Italian Baseball Federation Coaches Conference in Caserta, Italy January 25-27. Coach Sottile has become a regular fixture in Italian Baseball, making an annual summer pilgrimmage over the past 10 years to help direct and instruct their summer baseball clinics. Coach Sottile's topics were "Practice Organization" and "Fun Drills to Improve Your Game." He was joined by Ken Oberkfell, a former major leaguer and current New Orleans Zephyrs Manager (Milwaukee AAA), Baltimore Orioles pitching coach Rick Kranitz, and renowned sports psychologist Ken Ravizza.
Sottile is in his second season on the Spartan staff. Prior to STAC he coached North Rockland High School to three NYS Championships and received NYS Coach of the Year three times, and National High School Coach of the Year once.
